"We wen't sure what to do about music for my daughter's wedding ... until I met Ted Horwitz. Take Two is probably the best-kept secret in the area! They are the best for all size affairs. They sound like a full band; you can't believe it until you hear them. They handled music for the entire day: ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. They play all types of music, act as MC, interact with guests and keep the place hopping. So many of our guests came up to me and asked, "Where did you find them? They are fantastic!" Thank you, Ted; you made our daughter's wedding greater than I could possibly have hoped!" -- Nancy Martin
"We had a very large wedding reception in a hotel ballroom, and with Take Two we got the best of both worlds: the sound of a large band, and yet the intimacy and crowd interaction of a live stage performance. They took charge and smoothly directed the flow of events. They were musically very versatile and flexible. They also knew when to stay in the background and when to take center stage. And they brought a personal touch to our rehearsal dinner, playing solo piano as an elegant backdrop during dinner, and then accompanying the singing that came later. We are honored to highly recommend Take Two." -- Brian and Linda O'Brien
"Preparing for a wedding can be very stressful, and a bride needs to know that everything is taken care of. After I met with Ted and picked out my music selections, I felt like I was in such good hands and wouldn't need to worry at all about the music from that point on. On the Big Day, he arrived early and was dressed in his tuxedo. His darling wife Sandra even helped me with my last few fixes before I walked down the aisle, a very personal touch! Ted says, "The following is from the former Cortney Swartz, who married Larry Fairbanks on October 26, 2002 at The River Club at Confluence Park. It was completely unsolicited. I know it's long, but I don't think I could have come up with a better advertisement for Take Two if I had written it myself!"
"The music was one of my favorite things about our wedding. I found Take Two in one of the Columbus bridal magazines and checked out your website. I liked what I saw, which was a keyboard player who could customize about any combination of musicians and/or singers that we wanted."
"We just wanted a piano player to do the ceremony music and provide light background music during the reception. We went to listen to you at one of your weekly appearances at The Top Steak House. We thought you were very good and when we found out that you were open on our date we immediately decided to go with you."
"Ted, you and your wife Sandra HAVE to be two of the nicest people I have ever met. When we met with you a couple weeks before the wedding to iron out details about what we wanted, you were both SO anxious to please. I appreciated that you asked a lot of questions to get a feel for how the ceremony would proceed so you'd have the timing just right, and that you even offered to attend the rehearsal if we wanted. It was also great that you asked about our preferences in musical styles, and played several selections for us to help us decide."
"When you asked whether it was okay to add in different instrument sounds on the electronic keyboard or if we just wanted strictly a piano sound, I'm glad I told you just to use your judgement and have fun with it. It's obvious that you love what you do, and the music (and your judgement) was perfect."
"During the ceremony, you'd have thought we had a full complement of musicians playing. The sounds of Lohengrin just filled the room as I walked in and it was beautiful. During the reception, the music was a perfect, understated background to all the conversations going on, and people really enjoyed it."
"Sandra was great too, keeping an eye on things and reading the crowd. She was right there with a microphone for the best man during the toast and helped make sure that announcements like the opening of the buffet and the cake cutting were timely. She also helped with my train and opening the doors for me as I entered the ceremony room, which I'm sure was not in the job description! :)
"I think she's also responsible for Larry coming up and asking me to dance after most of our guests left, though she didn't say so. :) She just told me that every bride deserves at least one dance. It was actually the first time we've EVER danced together, and it was so special. You really tried to make everything special. "
"You were so willing to take requests during the reception (Moon River was a nice touch considering the location on the river and my uncle was mighty pleased with himself for thinking of it) and you have an amazingly large repertoire. And best of all, when my uncle, an incredible singer, wanted to sing "Some Enchanted Evening" for me before he left, you were able to play along with him and match him perfectly. Anyone who doesn't know much about music might not realize, it can be really difficult for a musician and singer who have never worked together to be able to play and sing in perfect time with each other, but you did it EFFORTLESSLY. It was a beautiful moment at the reception."
"Things started to wind down around 4 o'clock, a little earlier than weexpected, and we had paid you to perform until 5. It was very kind of you tooffer to refund the money for the remaining hour. But we were so happy withyou that we really wanted you to keep it."
"I will highly recommend Ted Horwitz and Take Two to anyone. You were my absolute favorite of all my wedding vendors." -- Cortney Fairbanks
